Annabel Crabb, Melbourne Comedy Festival show
Winner Best Events Weekly Event 2023 Adelaide Fringe
In a half-century, Annabel Crabb has been a farm hand, cookbook author, political correspondent, podcaster, mother, defendant and intruder in political kitchens. In her show she fires off 50 things she's learned over 50 years, from a farm upbringing (#8: Don't Get A Rabbit) to kitchen tips (#28: A Life Changing Way To Store Spices) to life around politics (#23: When Dressing For Lunch At Clive Palmer's House, Choose Something Non-Flammable) all the way through to ageing and dealing with grief. Lessons range from broad (#13: Life's Too Short To Work For Dickheads) to extremely specific (#22: If You're Doing An Event With Hillary Clinton, Do Not Drink The Glass Of Hot Water Covered With A Fancy Doily That Is Placed Carefully Backstage. It is For Hillary Clinton And Not For You).
Hilarious, pacey, thought-provoking and, as Leigh Sales says, "Who the hell would go to see that?"

Leigh Sales latest book ...
Leigh Sales is one of Australia's most accomplished journalists, having anchored the ABC's flagship 7.30 program for twelve years. She has been a foreign correspondent, hosted Lateline and anchored numerous elections for the ABC. In this book, she turns her interviewing skills onto her own profession, those usually asking the questions: the journalists.
A fascinating insight into a vital and much-misunderstood profession, Storytellers is a book for anyone who has ever wanted to be a journalist, or even just wondered how the news gets made.
